Celebrating Grandparents Day by Cheng San CC: A Heartwarming Corporate Social Responsibility Event

On 22nd November 2025, Ultimed Healthcare had the privilege of participating in a truly special event organised by Cheng San Community Club (CC) to celebrate Grandparents Day. This event, organized as part of our ongoing commitment to Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), was dedicated to honouring the cherished role that grandparents play in our families and communities. 

Empowering Seniors with Essential Health Knowledge

The Grandparents Day celebration at Cheng San CC was a meaningful occasion where we took the opportunity to engage with seniors and their families, offering valuable insights into topics that affect their health and well-being. At Ultimed Healthcare, we believe that educating the community is a crucial aspect of maintaining a healthy and active life, especially for our elderly population. 

During the event, our staff engaged directly with attendees on several key topics that are essential for seniors to consider as they age: 

• Lasting Power of Attorney (LPA): One of the key discussions revolved around the importance of having a Lasting Power of Attorney (LPA) set up early. Our staff emphasized that, while many people may not think about it until later in life, having an LPA in place ensures that individuals are prepared for any situation where they may be unable to make important decisions for themselves due to illness or incapacity. We highlighted how early planning can provide peace of mind for both seniors and their families. 

• Regular Health Screenings: We also stressed the importance of regular health screenings as part of maintaining overall well-being. Seniors were encouraged to make health checkups a routine part of their lives to catch potential issues early. Regular screenings can help prevent or manage chronic conditions, ensuring that seniors remain active and healthy for as long as possible. 

• Vaccinations: Another important discussion focused on the need for vaccinations in older age. Our staff emphasized the significance of staying up-to-date with essential vaccinations such as the flu shot, pneumococcal vaccine, and shingles vaccine. These vaccinations are crucial in preventing serious illnesses and complications, especially as the immune system tends to weaken with age.
